Bill Demeter
Bill Demeter is the President of Fuse Partners Limited (www.fuseonline.com) and has over forty years of experience working with organisations in North America, Europe and New Zealand. Bill’s experience includes management positions with Xerox, BT-KMP nv, and as an owner of EMF Corporation, a manufacturer. EMF grew to over 100 employees and $21 million (NZD) in annual turnover. EMF was sold in 1997.
Bill acquired the strategic planning company Fuse, Inc. in 1997. Clients include Hewlett-Packard and General Electric as well as government and non-profit charities. In 1997 Fuse won the prestigious State of Washington Entrepreneurial Organisation of the Year Award given by The Graduate Business School of Seattle University.
Bill holds B.A. degrees in both Philosophy and Psychology from the University of New Mexico. Bill serves on several Boards including The Literacy Alliance (Vice President), The WaterWisdom Society (President) and the St. Albans Neighbourhood Association (Co-Chair). Bill has written numerous papers on business ethics and community involvement.
Bill and his wife, Jane, a third generation Kiwi, immigrated to New Zealand from the USA in 2003 and reside in St. Albans, Christchurch..

• 1996 Co founder and director of EnviroLink Laboratory Ltd (NZ food and water testing laboratory - microbiology)
• 1998 onwards IANZ assessor (International Accreditation New Zealand)
• 2004 Advisor to Comprehensive Health Services PHO on Infection Control policy

Many publications on mycology, respiratory and urinary microbiology.
Many educational presentations/lectures throughout NZ to GP’s, Specialists, Nurses, rest homes, company boards, Universities, Polytechnics and the public on a wide range of topics including microbiology, infection control, customer service and MBA.
• Honorary Lecturer at Massey and Otago Universities.
• 2003 seconded by the Medical Laboratory Scientists Board to jointly overview the curriculum of the BMLSc degree offered by Universities in NZ.
• 2004 Nominated by NZIMLS for the NZ Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal
• 2005 Nominated to IANZ Medical Testing Professional Advisory Committee
• 2005 Member Canterbury primary care avian influenza response group

Robin's early research involved taxonomy and population genetics of temperate and tropical marine fishes, but since coming to the NWFSC group of NOAA in 1986 he has worked primarily with salmon.
Before assuming the role of senior scientist at the end of 2000, Robin led the Conservation Biology Division (and its precursors) for a decade, during which CBD staff conducted a series of comprehensive reviews of the status of Pacific salmonids under the federal Endangered Species Act. From 1999-2003 he was the Centers scientific lead for salmon recovery planning, and during parts of 2003 and 2004 he was a visiting scientist at university laboratories in France and the U.S. Robin has a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Marine Biology from Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

Jane Demeter was born in Cheviot where she was raised on a mixed sheep and cropping farm that had been in the family since 1893. The farm bordered the Hurunui River some 4 km from the mouth of the river.
Jane graduated from the University of Canterbury with a degree in Botany, followed by high school teacher training at Canterbury College. Jane then taught high school biology and science in Nelson for three years.
Jane went overseas and spent many years in Vancouver, Canada and Seattle, USA (Christchurch’s sister city). Jane’s business career was centred on the medical software technology sector and her last position was as Manager, software development, for IDX Systems Corporation (now part of the General Electric Healthcare Division).
Since returning to New Zealand in 2003, Jane has been a principal in Fuse Partners Limited (www.fuseonline.com) and has managed a significant contract working with the National Health System (NHS) in London for GE Healthcare.
Jane is very active in the community. She is the co-founder of the citizen awareness group WaterWisdom (www.waterwisdom.org.nz) where she serves as Secretary/Treasurer. She is the Environmental Representative for the Christchurch Branch of National Council of Women NZ and is responsible for submissions on environmental issues at the national and local level. She also is active in the Shirley/Papanui Civil Defence organisation.
Jane is currently taking a post graduate diploma in Environmental Studies at the University of Canterbury. She has attended most ECan council meetings, workshops, hearings and field trips over the last 12 months.
Jane is married to Bill and resides in St. Albans with their two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Zoe and Ella. They are currently restoring a 1908 Villa on Champion Street.
